EPHRON PUTNAM  Ellery, Chautauqua County

Ephron’s household has 2 males and 3 females. He is a son of Jonas (606) and Rhoda Putnam. His wife is Phebe Wilmarth. He was here in 1820 and will be here until he dies on 22 Jan. 1839. New England family.

 

JOHN PUTNAM  Ellery, Chautauqua County

John’s household has 2 males and 7 females. He is a son of Jonas (606) and Rhoda Putnam. His wife is Sabra Preston. He was here in 1820 and will be here up through the 1855. New England family.

 

LEONARD PUTNAM  Ellery, Chautauqua County

Leonard’s household has 2 males and I female. He is a son of the above John Putnam and Sabra Preston. His wife is Sarah Kelley. He will next appear in Rome, Crawford County, Pennsylvania in the 1840 census. New England family.

 

RHODA PUTNAM  Ellery, Chautauqua County

Rhoda’s household has 1 male and 2 females. She is the widow of Jonas Putnam who was in Saratoga, Albany County in 1790 and Scipio, Cayuga County in 1800. Jonas died soon after that and Rhoda and her adult sons John and Ephron all moved out here to Chautauqua County before 1810. Her third adult son Joel is living with her right now. Rhoda will die here on 18 Jul 1825 not long after this census is taken. We still don’t know her last name after all these years.  New England family.

 

ELIHU PUTNAM  Adams, Jefferson County

Elihu’s household has 3 males and 5 females. He is number 1342, a son of Adonijah Putnam (540) and Mary Wilkins. His wife is Polly Thomas. He was here in 1820 but it appears that he dies before he 1830. New England family.

 

EZRA PUTNAM  Adams, Jefferson County

Ezra’s household has 2 males and 1 female. He is a son of the above Elihu Putnam and Polly Thomas. His wife is Lois Thomas. They will be in Ellisburg in 1830 and will then return to Adams where they will stay. New England family.

 

ABIJAH PUTNAM  Brownville, Jefferson County

Abijah’s household has 2 males and 3 females. He is a son of Tarrant Putnam number 342 and Esther (or Easter) Foster. We don’t know the name of Abijah’s wife. Abijah was here in Lyme in 1820 but was listed as “Abigail.” This is the last time we will see Abijah in the census but he will actually be around until he dies here in the County Almshouse on October 17, 1849. New England family.

 

JOHN PUTNAM  Brownville, Jefferson County

John’s household has 4 males and 4 females. He is John Willington Putnam and is a son of the above Abijah. His wife is Minerva Cleveland. He was in North East, Erie County, Pennsylvania in 1820. He will be here in Brownville again in 1830 and 1835. New England family.

 

PARLEY PUTNAM  Brownville, Jefferson County

Parley’s household has 3 males and 2 females. He is a son of John Putnam number 1341 and Hannah Thomas. His wife is Prudence Allen. Parley was here in Lyme in 1820 and will be back there in time for the 1830. New England family.

 

DANIEL PUTNAM  Brownville, Jefferson County

Daniel’s household has 2 males and 2 females. Unlike the rest of the folks here in Jefferson County he is a member of the Dutch Putman family. He is a son of Christopher Putman and Elizabeth Vrooman. His wife is Sarah Renshaw. Daniel was here in Lyme in 1820 and will be back there in the 1830. Dutch Family.

 

JOHN PUTNAM  Hounsfield, Jefferson County

John’s household has 1 male and 3 females. He should be a son of Uzziel Putnam Jr. number 1828 and Molly Trask. Uzziel was here in 1810 but has now headed out west and is in Sandusky County, Ohio. It looks like John stayed behind on the old farm and was here in 1820. By 1830 John will be in New Haven, Oswego County. His wife is named Wealthy but we don’t know her last name. New England family.

 

SAMUEL PUTNAM  Orleans, Jefferson County

Samuel’s household has 5 males and 3 females. He is number 1898, a son of Archelaus Putnam and Mary Nichols. His wife is Zeruah Green. He was here in Rodman in 1820 and will be back there in 1830. New England family.

 

SIMEON PUTNAM  Philadelphia, Jefferson County

Simeon’s household has 3 males and 5 females. He is a son of Derrick Putman and Nellie Van Brocklin. His wife is Polly Keller. He was here in Antwerp in 1820 and will be in Ephrata, Montgomery County by 1830. Dutch Family.

 

MALACHI PUTNAM  Rodman, Jefferson County

Malachi’s household has 6 males and 3 females. He was indexed as just “M.” He is number 1285, a son of Andrew Putnam and Lucy Parks. His wife is Sarah Blount. He was listed here in 1820 in Lowville and will be in Henderson in 1830. New England family.

 

ELIJAH PUTNAM  Watertown, Jefferson County

Elijah’s household has 3 males and 1 female. He should be the son of Moses Putnam and Mary Allen who are here in Watertown as well. Elijah was born on 16 Jul. 1790 in Sutton, Massachusetts and married Paris Livermore on 18 Apr. 1819 in Auburn, Massachusetts. They were in Ward, Worcester County, Massachusetts in 1820 but have since moved out here with Elijah’s parents. The two boys enumerated with Elijah are sons Loomis Lauren (born about 1821) and Brigham (born May 1824). They will be in Westmoreland, Oneida County in 1830 and then in the town of Vienna, Oneida County up through the 1870 census. New England family.

 

MOSES PUTNAM  Watertown, Jefferson County

Moses’ household has 2 males and 2 females. He is number 2150, a son of Moses Putnam and Mary Allen. His wife is Lavinia Livermore. Moses will be here again in Watertown in 1820 and will be through the 1850 census. New England family.

 

JOHN PUTMAN  Hector, Tompkins County

John’s household has 3 males and 3 females. He will be here again in 1830. We’re not sure who John is. Probably a member of the Dutch family but that is just a guess.

 

JACOB PUTNAM  Greenwich, Washington County

Jacob’s household has 3 males and 5 females. This family included “5 persons of color not taxed” and appear to have been a Black family.

 

ISRAEL PUTNAM  Hartford, Washington County

Israel’s household has 5 males and 5 females. He is number 2132, a son of Eleazer Porter Putnam (895) and Rebecca Smith of Newbury, Orange County Vermont. His wife is Charlotte Safford. He was here in 1820 and will be in Fair Haven, Rutland County, Vermont by the 1830. New England family.

 

JOHN P. PUTNAM  White Creek, Washington County

John Pope’s household has 1 males and 2 females. He is number 691, a son of Peter Schuyler Putnam (250) and Lucy Frink of Pomfret, Connecticut. His wife is Elizabeth Dorr. He was here in 1820 and will be again in 1830. New England family.

 

PETER PUTMAN  Barrington, Yates County

Peter is indexed but the original page is missing. Peter Putman is a son of Victor Putman and was born in Sussex County, New Jersey. Peter is married to Sarah Kinnan. They were here in 1820 when it was part of Steuben County and will be here again in 1830. Dutch Family.

Peter Jr. is indexed but the original page is missing. Peter Putman Jr. is a son of Peter Putman and Sarah Kinnan. He is married to Margaret Saunders. They were listed here in 1820 when it was part of Steuben County. Peter and family will be here again in 1830. Dutch Family.
